CATL Partners with Ellen MacArthur Foundation for Battery Recycling
CATL and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation have agreed to work together to improve battery recycling. CATL will support the Foundation in building a battery recycling system. The goal is to create a circular economy where used batteries are reused instead of wasted. CATL has already recycled 130,000 tons of used batteries in 2024. The Foundation believes this partnership will help make battery production more sustainable.
Willdan Wins $17.7 Million Contract for Solar and EV Charging in Paramount Schools
Willdan Group has been selected to manage engineering and construction for a $17.7 million project at Paramount Unified School District. The project includes 2.2 MW of solar arrays and 44 electric vehicle charging stations at 11 sites. It is expected to reduce over 1,100 metric tons of CO₂ emissions each year.
Ampion and Erie County Start Solar Savings Program for Low-Income Residents
Ampion Renewable Energy has been chosen to manage the Erie County Low Income Program for Sustainable Energy (ECLIPSE). The program will help low-income residents save up to 10 percent on electricity through community solar. Residents who receive federal or state aid programs can join. Erie County will hold events to help people enroll. Ampion has already helped customers save $42 million through community solar.
Freen OU Launches 15 kW Wind Turbine for Small Businesses
Freen OU has introduced a 15-kW wind turbine called the Freen-H15. It is designed for small and medium-sized businesses. The turbine can produce up to 17 kW of power and operates in a wide range of temperatures. It has a passive yaw system for wind alignment, a low-speed rotation, and multiple braking mechanisms. It produces little noise and has a 20-year lifespan. The turbine is available for order and takes 12 weeks for delivery.
Mission Solar Energy Expands with $265 Million Solar Cell Plant in Texas
Mission Solar Energy is investing $265 million to build a 2 GW solar cell manufacturing plant in San Antonio, Texas. The facility will create 500 jobs and increase U.S.-made solar products. The company will use polysilicon from Malaysia’s OCI TerraSus. Mission Solar Energy’s president said the investment supports American manufacturing and job creation. The company recently completed a factory expansion and continues to focus on high-quality solar products.
