LG Energy Solution extends partnership with GM for prismatic battery cell technology
LG Energy Solution, a provider of lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles, mobility, IT, and energy storage systems, announced a partnership with General Motors (GM) for prismatic battery cell technology, as an extension of their 14-year collaboration.
Under the agreement, the companies will develop prismatic battery cell technology and affiliated chemistries, which will be used to power future GM electric vehicles.
Prismatic battery cells are flat and rectangular, making them space-efficient for modules and packs. LG Energy Solution has experience in producing prismatic cells and holds patents in battery design, manufacturing, and packaging.
Alpha Omega Power acquires 100MW Caballero battery energy storage project
Alpha Omega Power, a provider of renewable energy, announced the acquisition and financing of the Caballero battery energy storage project, a 100MW / 400MWh battery in Nipomo, California, with Fengate Asset Management. The project will power over 100,000 homes for up to four hours during peak demand.
AOP has partnered with Gridmatic, a power marketer, to optimize the Caballero battery. Gridmatic’s AI will optimize battery operations and manage risk for storage owners through resource trading and risk management
Nature’s Generator launches powerful Lithium 3600 generator to save energy costs
Nature’s Generator, a provider of renewable-energy home integration products, announced the launch of the Nature’s Generator Lithium 3600, powered by Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) technology, allowing users to use free solar and wind power to save energy costs.
The Lithium 3600 is designed for reliable emergency backup, off-grid living, and outdoor use, with a capacity of 3600W (expandable up to 7200W) and 3072 Watt-Hours (expandable to 36,864 Watt-Hours). It charges quickly using solar panels or an AC outlet, with a full charge achievable in one hour.
Strata Clean Energy completes Inland Empire Energy Storage Project in California
Strata Clean Energy, a provider of renewable energy solutions, announced that it completed the Inland Empire Energy Storage project in Rialto, California.
The 70MW/280MWh Inland Empire Energy Storage project is designed to store excess energy during low demand and release it during peak demand. This helps with grid modernization and supports California’s renewable energy targets
