There were 91 T&D project tenders announced in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2021, marking a drop of 74 percent over the last four-quarter average of 354, according to GlobalData’s power industry tenders database.
T&D Equipment stood at first place when compared with other power tender categories in the Asia-Pacific region in Q2 2021 with 167 tenders and a 32.6 percent share, followed by Power Plant with 126 tenders and a 24.6 percent share and T&D Project with 91 tenders and a 17.7 percent share during the quarter.
The proportion of tenders by category tracked by GlobalData in the quarter was as follows:
Project Implementation: 77 tenders and an 84.6 percent share
Consulting & Similar Services: eight tenders and an 8.8 percent share
Repair, Maintenance, Upgrade & Others: six tenders and a 6.6 percent share.
Solar is top technology for Asia-Pacific T&D project tenders in Q2 2021
Looking at T&D project tenders by the type of technology in the Asia-Pacific region, solar accounted for two tenders with a 50 percent share, followed by thermal with one tender and a 25 percent share and hydro with one tender and a 25 percent share.
