Alstom wins €220 mn contract for combined-cycle power project in Turkey

Alstom has secured two contracts worth €220 million for the supply and the maintenance of the power island of the 950 MW Kirikkale combined-cycle power plants in the central Anatolia region in Turkey.

Alstom will supply two GT26 gas turbines, two heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), one steam turbine and three turbo-generators.

The project will sell the dependable power capacity and electricity dispatched through bilateral contracts on a merchant basis.

Kirikkale Independent Power Project (KIPP) is developed by Acwa Güç Elektrik Işletme ve Yönetim Sanayi ve Ticaret (ACWA Guc).

The plant is expected to be commissioned in May 2017.

Samsung Construction and Trading (SCT) are responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work on a turnkey basis.

In addition, Alstom will provide installation and commissioning field advisory services along with 20 years of maintenance service to SCT after commissioning.

Alstom group has won four major orders worth Rs330 crore for equipment supplies and Renovation & Modernization (R&M) work on four power plants in India.

These orders were from National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), TATA Power, NALCO and GEA Energy Systems (India) Ltd.

In Turkey, Alstom supplied key equipment for nearly 25 percent of the power generation capacity, which included Atatürk dam, the biggest hydro power plant in the country.

Alstom is a world leader in conventional nuclear projects. It makes turbines for nuclear power stations.
