Sharp to launch Plasmacluster Ion air purification technology in India

Greentech Lead India: Japanese consumer electronics brand
SHARP is introducing the Plasmacluster Ion air purifier technology in India.

SHARP introduced its first Air purifiers equipped with
Plasmacluster Ion Technology in September 2000. The technology is used in air
conditioners, refrigerators, air purifiers, hair treatment and car versions of
air conditioners.

Sharp reached the first 1 crore user mark at the end of
2005, 3 crore users till in December 2010 and 4 crore by June 2012
registering the healthiest growth rate in the Air Treatment Industry worldwide.

Sunil K. Sinha, MD, Sharp Business Systems India
Limited, said, “India is a key growth market for SHARP’s Plasmacluster
business, especially in an environment where the Indoor air pollution levels
are increasing every day & every minute. With our range of products with
affordable price and zero maintenance, we hope to make a strong value
proposition to the buyers from all strata of our society across the country.”

“We will undertake product demonstration from Top
Retailers across India during this festive season. This activity will allow us
to interact directly with consumers and educate them about the need of fresh
air and how Sharp Plasmacluster can help build the Immune System of our loved
ones in an environment so challenging to us,” Sinha added.

Over the years, Plasmacluster devices have evolved as an
effective way to create a fresh air environment indoors. The technology is
especially helpful for patients suffering respiratory diseases and other COPD.
This has equally been successful in corporate, BPO and office canteens where
the staleness, infection control and odor removals are of prime concern.

Independent researches have shown Plasmacluster to be
safe and effective.

At the same time, internationally, the number of
countries where Plasmacluster products are available has reached approximately
100.

Since introducing Plasmacluster, Sharp has collaborated
with independent scientific research organizations in academic marketing that
proves the effectiveness of the technology.

The company is aiming for cumulative sales of 10 crore
Plasmacluster products by the end of fiscal 2016.
