The RECs being provided are Green-e certified, a program of the nonprofit Center for Resource Solutions that guarantees both environmental integrity and consumer protection.

RECs signify all the environmental attributes of electricity production from renewable energy projects. For every megawatt-hour of renewable energy production, a REC is created.

This is a substantial initiative for all those involved with Citi Field to be a part of this carbon offsetting and sustainability efforts, said, Rick Anderson, senior director, Business Development, NextEra Energy.
