Enfinity America completes Ten Solar Installations for the City of Reno

By Greentech Lead Team: Enfinity America Corporation, a
solar energy development and finance company, announced it has completed ten
solar installations for the City of Reno. The installations will generate over
1,800 megawatt-hours (MWh) annually approximately 18 percent of the city’s
total electricity needs.

The projects are expected to help save the city between $1.6
and $3.0 million over the 20 year power purchase agreement (PPA) term. The
solar installations are located at municipal facilities throughout the city.

“In line with our focus on Distributed Generation
opportunities, the City of Reno is the latest addition to our portfolio of
projects developed for municipalities. Enfinity will own and operate the
systems on behalf of the city, helping Reno to benefit from energy savings and
strengthen its position as a leading sustainable community,” said Bob
Hopper, executive vice president of development, Enfinity.

Enfinity collaborated with City of
Reno and Nevada Solar Works, which provided Q&D Construction, CleanPath
Renewables and Reliant Electric to develop the solar program. Construction
services were provided by Swinerton Renewable Energy, a division of Swinerton.

“Increasingly, municipalities are recognizing that
solar energy is a viable, commercially-sound proposition. Cities like Reno are
now able to purchase clean energy, often at a lower rate than their current
cost of energy, without significant up-front capital costs or the
responsibility for maintaining the system,” added Hopper.

Enfinity combine its global experience with a local focus to
deliver a seamless solar project management approach. Enfinity is currently
developing, building and financing solar PV projects with a total capacity of
more than 390 MW.

Last year, Mabo Group, and Enfinity Italy signed an
agreement to
co-develop and construct solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on commercial and
industrial rooftops throughout Italy.
