Danfoss sets up PSR lab to test efficiency of cooling solutions

Danfoss India, a climate and energy efficient solutions provider, has set up a Psychrometric (PSR) lab to test products for energy efficiency standards.

The lab will help industries test performance of their air conditioning components which are the highest load contributors on power grids.

“This initiative will help the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry to develop innovative energy efficient products,” a statement quoted Dr Ajay Mathur, the director general of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, as saying.

The PSR lab has facilities to test air conditioners, chillers and other refrigeration equipment for international standards such as IS, ISO 5051, AHRI and AHRI 550/590.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ravichandran Purushothaman, President, Danfoss India said, “Danfoss invests 4.3 percent of net sales into innovation. This ensures focus of our R&D efforts into realizing some of the best, new-to-the-world energy solutions that not only address our customer requirements but also help us empower them to contribute positively towards energy security.”

According to a statement, the research and development center of Danfoss in India has been specifically designed to cater to cold chain solutions in the country. At this center, global cooling solutions of Danfoss are reverse engineered and tweaked to suit local requirements, the statement added.
