GE Lighting has organized a special roadshow to promote awareness on energy-efficient lighting, highlighting the innovative sustainable lighting solutions that will support the Saudi Arabia’s green energy achievement.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Shehri, governor, Electricity & Co-Generation Regulatory Authority (ECRA) has inaugurated the event.
HE Al Shehri flagged off the GE Mobile Lighting Experience Center that will tour from Dammam to Jubail and Riyadh at a ceremony held at the Saudi GE Innovation Center in Dhahran Techno Valley.
The Mobile Lighting Experience Center showcases an all-inclusive sustainable lighting technology dedicated to increased energy efficiency and reduced environmental emissions.
GE’s LED technology solutions can save 40 to 70 per cent in energy consumption, which are free of mercury and lead, offering a major part in driving environmental sustainability.
In accordance with the ecomagination drive of GE to promote environment-friendly products, its Mobile Lighting Experience Center symbols primary sustainable lighting educational initiative in the Kingdom.
With energy consumption reaching record highs to meet the demands of infrastructure development and a growing population, Saudi Arabia is focusing on replacing traditional lighting systems with the energy-efficient LED solutions. ECRA is committed to implementing initiatives for the rational use of electricity, explained, His Excellency Abdullah Al Shehri.
LED lighting is today an ideal fit to achieve significant savings in power usage and ECRA promote its wider usage across the Kingdom. GE roadshow will create further awareness on the urgent need to adopt energy-efficient lighting, added Shehri.
This Center puts the spotlight on the path-breaking LED lighting systems and will strengthen awareness among the public on the need to shift to a more sustainable model of lighting for the benefit of our future generations, commented, Hisham Albahkali, president, CEO for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, GE.
Recently, the government adapted several initiatives for energy-efficient lighting. GE Lighting supplies its advanced products to major projects in the Kingdom.
Among the GE Lighting products on showcase are the LED Lumination, LED signage, LED retrofit and LED Outdoor ranges, ideal for specialized indoor lighting functions and outdoor activities.
GE is taking LED lighting to the next level by leveraging the Industrial Internet, which integrates intelligent machines with brilliant people, helping them to find new ways to fight major global challenges.
Outdoor LEDs can be connected with CCTV systems and movement sensors to help police and emergency services respond in real time to crimes.
