Sunsure Energy Signs 30 MW Solar PPA with Evonith Steel in Maharashtra

Indian renewable-energy producer Sunsure Energy has signed a long-term power purchase agreement to supply 30 MWp of solar electricity to Evonith Steel’s manufacturing operations in Wardha, Maharashtra. Electricity will be sourced from Sunsure’s existing 120 MWp solar facility in Dhule. The agreement is expected to become operational during October 2026. Evonith estimates that renewable electricity procurement will reduce annual carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 34,700 tonnes. Sunsure, backed by Partners Group, operates approximately 800 MW of renewable assets and has an additional 8.3 GW under development. The company develops solar, wind and battery storage projects for commercial and industrial electricity customers. Its long-term development target is 10 GW of renewable capacity by 2030.

Limes Renewable Energy Secures Approvals for 50 MW Solar Projects in Italy

Italian solar developer Limes Renewable Energy has secured authorisations for two photovoltaic projects totalling approximately 50 MWp, increasing its fully authorised and ready-to-build portfolio in Italy to around 450 MWp. The approved portfolio now includes 27 projects across six Italian regions. Limes expects another 100 MWp to receive authorisation before the end of 2026. Its total Italian solar development pipeline stands at approximately 1.9 GW, while authorised and ready-to-build capacity across Italy and Chile exceeds 650 MWp. Since establishment, the company has sold approximately 1.2 GW of projects to third-party investors, including 974 MW in Italy and 200 MW in Chile. Around 300 MW of transferred projects are already operational.

Nightpeak Energy Commissions 150 MW Battery, Completing 300 MW Bocanova Storage Project in Texas

US energy developer Nightpeak Energy has achieved financial close and commercial operation of its 150 MW Bocanova 2 battery storage project in Brazoria County, Texas. The two-hour installation entered commercial operation on September 17, 2026, doubling the Bocanova site’s capacity to 300 MW. Bocanova 1, also rated at 150 MW, began operating in August 2025. The second phase uses Tesla Megapack 2 XL battery systems and operates under a long-term electricity offtake agreement. Financing includes a tax equity bridge loan and construction-to-term facility arranged with MUFG Bank, while US Bank provided tax equity. Nightpeak has developed or acquired more than 1 GW of operating and advanced-stage energy infrastructure since its establishment in 2022.
