SEG Solar Begins Production at Indonesian PV Factory

SEG Solar has commenced operations at its new photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing facility in Batang Regency, Central Java, Indonesia. The plant’s first production line, part of an initial 2 GW capacity, has begun producing high-efficiency n-type solar cells with a conversion efficiency of 26.4 percent. Utilizing double-sided alternating screen-printing equipment, the facility achieves a cycle time of 0.75 seconds per cell, 20 percent faster than industry standards. This marks SEG Solar’s expansion into upstream solar cell manufacturing, complementing its existing module production in the U.S

Boom Power Secures Permit for 400 MW Solar Project in East Yorkshire

Boom Power has received development consent for a 400-megawatt (MW) solar project in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England. This marks the company’s first Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) in the UK. The project is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 100,000 homes annually. Boom Power plans to begin construction in 2025, with the project aiming to be operational by 2027. The development aligns with the UK’s renewable energy goals and contributes to the country’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

Ocean Winds Installs First Turbine at 488 MW French Offshore Project

Ocean Winds has installed the first turbine at its 488 MW offshore wind project off the coast of Îles d’Yeu and Noirmoutier, France. The project will feature 61 Siemens Gamesa turbines, each with an 8 MW capacity. Once operational, it will generate 1.8 TWh annually, powering around 850,000 homes. Construction is on schedule, with the farm expected to start operations in 2026. Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and ENGIE, is advancing its offshore wind initiatives as part of France’s renewable energy strategy.

ILTE to Finance 10 Green Genius Solar Parks in Lithuania

Lithuania’s national development bank, ILTE, has committed €48.9 million to finance 10 solar parks developed by Green Genius. These projects, located in remote areas of Lithuania, will collectively add 89.7 megawatts (MW) of capacity to the country’s renewable energy infrastructure. The funding is part of ILTE’s strategy to support the expansion of clean energy sources and reduce carbon emissions. Green Genius, an international renewable energy company, is leading the development of these solar parks, contributing to Lithuania’s energy transition goals.
