Octillion Adds More Than 3 GWh of EV Battery Capacity in Gujarat
Octillion Power Systems has opened its third manufacturing plant in India, expanding domestic electric-vehicle battery production. Located in Halol, Gujarat, the new facility covers more than 13,000 square metres and was constructed in under eight months. It adds over 3 GWh of annual battery-system manufacturing capacity, supporting passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, light commercial vehicles and electric buses. The investment strengthens Octillion’s position as a Tier 1 supplier while expanding India’s local EV supply chain. The Gujarat operation complements the company’s two existing Indian manufacturing sites and gives customers additional production capacity as electric-mobility adoption accelerates. Octillion said the plant will manufacture battery systems suited to different vehicle platforms and operating requirements, supporting automakers seeking locally produced, scalable and customised battery solutions.
Arctech Secures 425 MW of Solar Tracker Projects in Central Asia
Arctech has expanded its presence in Central Asia after securing new solar projects with combined capacity of 425 MW. The agreements strengthen the solar-tracking and mounting-system supplier’s position in a region experiencing rising investment in utility-scale renewable energy. Arctech will supply its tracking technology to support higher power generation and reliable operation under Central Asia’s demanding climatic conditions, which can include temperature fluctuations, strong winds and challenging terrain. The 425 MW portfolio demonstrates growing demand for advanced solar equipment as regional governments diversify their electricity systems and develop domestic renewable resources. Arctech said its expanding local capabilities and project experience would help customers improve construction efficiency and long-term plant performance. The company is positioning Central Asia as an important component of its international solar-growth strategy.
Oman’s 120 MW JBB Wind Project Reaches Financial Close
EDF Power Solutions, Al Khadra Partners and OQ Alternative Energy have achieved financial close for Oman’s 120 MW Jaalan Bani Bu Ali wind project. Located about 440 kilometres from the Port of Duqm, the development covers 10.7 square kilometres and will use 16 turbines rated at 7.7 MW each. Grid connection is targeted for the third quarter of 2027 under a 20-year power-purchase agreement. The wind farm is expected to produce approximately 352,380 MWh annually, supply more than 13,500 homes, save around 67 million cubic metres of natural gas and avoid over 270,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. The approximately OMR50.86 million project supports Oman’s 30 percent renewable-electricity target for 2030 and net-zero goal for 2050.
