German premium carmaker BMW has revealed sales of battery-electric vehicles (BEV) surged by 22.2 percent to 107,933 autos in the April-June period.
BMW will release its full result for the second quarter of 2024 on August 1.
BMWÂ said its second-quarter sales fell by 1.3 percent year-on-year to 618,826 vehicles.
In its key market China, sales were 4.7 percent lower at 188,495 vehicles, BMWÂ said.
In BMW’s home market Germany, sales dropped by 11.5 percent to 68,351 cars.
In the United States, sales were up 1.7 percent, rising to 97,135 vehicles, BMWÂ said.
