Infinity Power Awards AIKO Solar Module Contracts for 773.5 MWp in South Africa
African renewable-energy developer Infinity Power has signed letters of award with Chinese solar manufacturer AIKO for photovoltaic modules covering 773.5 MWp of projects in South Africa. The equipment will be supplied to the Highveld Solar project and Ngwedi Cluster, comprising Onderstepoort Solar 1 and Onderstepoort Solar 2. AIKO will provide its high-power All Back Contact solar modules. The agreements increase the combined capacity of projects covered by the companies’ collaboration across Africa to more than 2 GWp. The signing ceremony took place in Yiwu, China, with representatives from both companies. Final equipment delivery schedules, contract consideration and individual project commissioning dates were not disclosed.
Parapet Completes 32 MWp Solar Farm for Alerion Clean Power in Romania
Romanian renewable-energy contractor Parapet has completed construction and commissioning of the 32 MWp Dănești photovoltaic power plant in Călărași County, Romania. The project was developed for Conti Energie Verde, a subsidiary of Italian renewable-energy producer Alerion Clean Power. The facility occupies 51 hectares and includes approximately 50,000 solar modules rated at 640 Wp each, more than 860 single-axis trackers and 380 kilometres of electrical cabling. Expected annual generation is 52 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 20,000 households. Parapet handled engineering, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning. The installation forms part of a broader contract covering seven solar projects totalling approximately 80 MWp across Romania and Italy.
VSB Starts Construction of 18 MW Wind Repowering Project in Germany
German renewable-energy developer VSB has started construction of the 18 MW Liethe-Lehmden wind repowering project in Rastede, Lower Saxony. The project will replace four existing 0.9 MW turbines, representing 3.6 MW of installed capacity, with three Vestas V150 turbines rated at 6 MW each. Installed capacity will increase fivefold, while annual electricity generation is expected to rise more than tenfold. The repowered facility should generate electricity equivalent to the annual requirements of approximately 11,300 three-person households. Commissioning is targeted for late summer 2027. The project is VSB’s first wind farm in Lower Saxony. The company is also preparing the nearby 14 MW Oldenbrok Süd project, which received approval in July 2026.
