Windreich AG starts construction of the 400 MW North Sea wind farm

Greentech Lead Asia: Windreich AG, a group of companies of the on and offshore
wind energy industry, announced the commencing of construction of the first 400
MW North Sea wind farm, Global Tech I. The offshore
wind farm is expected to provide 1 million people with affordable and
safely generated electricity. The construction of the project is scheduled to
complete by the end of 2013.

The project will utilize 80 AREVA Wind
M5000 turbines with an output of 5 MW each. The floating and self-installing
Alstom substation will install tripods and turbines on the 43 square kilometer
construction site. By using 5 MW AREVA technologies, Windreich AG expects 98
percent availability and more than 4500 full load hours.

Tripods and other equipment will be shipped from the
storage location on the ABC peninsula in Bremerhaven. Installation of the
internal farm cabling will commence in autumn 2012.
