Vestas wind project

Vestas has won an order from Fu-Gen, a developer for the 42 MW wind project Fjallboheden northwest of Skelleftea in Northern Sweden.

Financial details were not disclosed. Vestas, the number one supplier of wind turbines, competes with Siemens Gamesa.

Vestas provides ten V150-4.2 MW turbines featuring Vestas Anti-Icing System in order to efficiently minimise ice formation on blades.

“This project is a major milestone for Fu-Gen and its partner Abraxas Capital Management in the Swedish market,” said Matthias Rapp, chairman of Fu-Gen AG.

Vestas demonstrates the ability to offer wind energy solutions and services that optimise the cost of energy in a demanding climatic environment, while at the same time create maximum value for our customer, said Nils de Baar, president of Vestas Northern and Central Europe.

Vestas said the wind turbine contract includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a 27-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement.

Vestas said the project will feature VestasOnline Business SCADA solution to lower turbine downtime and optimise the energy output. Vestas will start the delivery of turbine in the second quarter of 2021.
