Vestas has secured a 55 MW order with RENOVA for the Reihoku Amakusa Onshore Wind project in Kumamoto prefecture, Japan.
Vestas said it will supply 13 Vestas V117-4.2 MW wind turbines to the project. The turbines will be installed with a high-tower solution with 112-meter hub heights in order to unlock new wind resources at higher and more consistent wind speeds.
The order also includes a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement, designed to ensure optimised performance of the wind farm.
Vestas and RENOVA have already collaborated for three projects in Vietnam.
Turbine delivery will begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, with commissioning scheduled for completion in 2026.
