Vestas, a leader in wind turbine manufacturing, has landed a substantial order from ENOVA Power GmbH for a repowering venture situated in Meppen, at the western end of Lower Saxony, Germany.

The order encompasses the delivery of nine V172-7.2 MW wind turbines, marking a substantial advancement in wind energy technology. Alongside supply and delivery, Vestas will also undertake the commissioning of these turbines. Upon completion, Vestas will further bolster its commitment to sustainable energy by providing comprehensive service through a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) agreement. This long-term service package is meticulously designed to ensure the peak performance and efficiency of the assets over their operational lifespan.

Sulai Fahimi, Vice President Sales Central Europe at Vestas, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are delighted to engage in this project with ENOVA Power GmbH, underlining the trust of our customers in our latest technologies. Shaping the sustainable energy landscape for the region and for Germany in this first project with ENOVA makes me very proud, and I am looking forward to the future collaboration.”

Hauke Bruemmer, CEO of ENOVA Power GmbH, emphasized the significance of this partnership, hailing it as the largest onshore project in the company’s 35-year history. Bruemmer stated, “A great team effort on both sides led to the largest onshore project in ENOVA’s 35-year history. But we are far from finished: by 2026, we will invest approximately 600 million euros in German onshore wind and thus continue to drive the growth of renewable energies in Germany.”

Turbine delivery is slated to commence in the fourth quarter of 2025, with commissioning scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. This ambitious timeline underscores the commitment of both Vestas and ENOVA Power GmbH towards accelerating the transition to clean, renewable energy sources.
