Vestas has secured an order from Elera Renovaveis for the 248 MW Serido Oeste project, located in Parelhas, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil.

The project will feature 55 V150-4.5 MW turbines which Vestas will supply and install. Upon completion, Vestas will also deliver a 20-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. This agreement will optimize energy production while also providing long-term business case certainty.

“We will partner with Elera Renovaveis, from Brookfield Asset Management group, for their first wind project to be deployed in Brazil,” says Eduardo Ricotta, President of Vestas Latin America.

The delivery of wind turbines will be in the second quarter of 2023, with commissioning scheduled for the second quarter of 2024.

The wind turbines are locally produced under the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) FINAME rules, creating jobs and expanding Brazil’s wind energy industry and supporting the government’s initiative to promote renewables and a more sustainable energy mix.
