Siemens Wind Power bags order from EDF Luminus

Siemens Wind Power has bagged a major order from EDF Luminus, an energy company in Belgium, for supplying wind turbines for two projects in the Belgian municipalities of Dessel and Mol as well as in Beveren.

Siemens will install the nine 3.2 megawatt (MW) machines of the Siemens D3 product platform at the wind projects “Sibelco” and “Katoen Natie – Loghidden City”. The wind energy order includes a service and maintenance agreement for a period of 15 years.

Siemens said the two wind power plants have a combined generation capacity of 28.8 MW. The 19.2 MW Katoen Natie wind farm is located in the port of Antwerp on the territory of Beveren municipality. The 9.6 MW Sibelco wind farm is located in Dessel and Mol.

Siemens will supply the Siemens SWT-3.2-113 wind turbine with a rotor diameter of 113 meters and a rating of 3.2 megawatts. Siemens will mount the nacelles of the Katoen Natie project on towers with a hub height of 127.5m. For the Sibelco projects it is in and 99.5 meters. Turbine installation for both projects will start in October 2017.
