Siemens Energy has achieved a  10 GW of installed wind power capacity in the Americas.

Siemens has installed around 5,600 wind turbines in Canada, USA and South America, including Peru, Chile and Brazil. They supply clean, renewable power to three million average households.

Siemens has reached this point with the commissioning of their 38th wind turbine of 270MW at the South Kent wind power project in Canada in April 2014.

Mark Albenze, CEO, Wind Power Onshore, Siemens Energy, said,” Customers have shown confidence in Siemen’s technology and service capabilities. Company has invested in Americas in order to service wind markets of U.S. and Canada. The factories install and export wind turbines at locations demanded by the customers. The team effort of 1,900 employees and project partners helped the group to achieve this mission”.

Mike Garland, CEO, Pattern Energy, said, “Pattern Energy has installed 500 turbines in partnership with Siemens and company is looking forward to upcoming projects in Texas and Ontario.”

Siemens has invested in wind power service in several locations of America. Their wind power business in Americas started with the opening of headquarters in Orlando, Florida, in 2005.

Wind power and energy service are part of Siemens’ environmental portfolio. Around 43 percent of its total revenue is from green products and solutions.
