Nordex has achieved its first contract from Lithuania to supply eight N117/3000 wind turbines for the “Jurbarkas” 24-MW wind farm from 2015.
Nordex will install N117/3000 Generation Delta turbines on 120-metre towers. Starting in November 2015, the farm will begin to produce 80 GWh of electricity.
The contract also includes the provision of service by Nordex over 15 years. Nordex will establish a service point close to the wind farm.
The project developer for “Jurbarkas” is Eurakras, owned 86 percent by Renagro and 14 percent by Baltcap.
It is an achievement for Nordex to enter the Lithuanian market, particularly for installing N117/3000 Generation Delta turbines. This identifies Jurbarkas a reference project for Generation Delta for locations with medium wind speeds, says, Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, member, Nordex’s Management Board.
Nordex offers with the N117/3000 turbine are the right choice for the site with a good ratio of price versus estimated production. Bringing a new wind turbine supplier into the market will enhance competition and be beneficial for the market in a long run, says, Aleksandr Spiridonov, managing director, Eurakras.
