Indian wind energy solutions provider Inox Wind has bagged an order for a 50 megawatt wind power project at Rojmal in Gujarat.
The state-government run minerals and lignite mining company Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (GMDC)has awarded Inox the contract.
Under the agreement, Inox Wind is to supply 25 of its 2-megawatt DFIG wind turbine generators to GMDC. The turbines which have diameter of 100 meters are ideal for low wind areas.
The 50 MW project is the first order GMDC has placed with Inox Wind and it will be part of the “Inox Wind Park” with capacity of 400 megawatts. It is one of the many wind parks being developed by Inox across the country.
According to a statement, Inox will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle including wind resource assessment, building the power evacuation system, acquiring land, developing site infrastructure, supplying turbines, erection and commissioning services. It is also to provide long-term operations and maintenance services to GMDC.
