Gamesa and Iberdrola have jointly developed a wind segment-pioneering system which can remotely manage any turbine around the world.

The WindCore+ WindOne is a remote management system that allows project controllers to analyze real time data from projects.

The control system collects data including wind speed at each turbine, temperature of the machines and intensity.

In addition, the system can be used on any make of turbine through a single interface eliminating the need for different software programs.

This data is helpful for project owners to predict operations and maintenance work.

Already, Gamesa operates almost 400 global projects from its control center in Spain.

According to company officials, the flexibility of these systems will help in implementing them in any situation adapting to the customer’s patented communications network infrastructure and management tools.

The remote management system matches with DNV GL’s certification of Gamesa’s upgrade program, which will extend the life of its G47-660kW turbines to 30 years.

According to the certification body, Gamesa’s structural upgrades and monitoring features can extend the life of the turbines from 20- 30 years.

Gamesa is planning to implement the life-extension program to its 850kW and 2MW turbines and also to all brands of machines maintained by Gamesa.
