Greentech Lead America: Conduit Capital Partners, a
private equity investment firm focused on energy infrastructure investment and
development in Latin America and the Caribbean, has started building a 22 MW
wind farm project at Santa Catarina in northern Mexico.
Conduit acquired the Santa Catarina project through its
Latin Power III Fund, along with Comexhidro. Conduit Capital is managing the
project in partnership with Asergen, an affiliated company of Comexhidro.
The power produced by the Santa Catarina project will be
sold to municipalities around the city of Monterrey under long-term power
purchase agreements.
“After so many successful power investments in the
region, we are thrilled to be working on our first wind project. We believe
this technology will be vital for meeting Mexico’s future power needs at
reasonable costs. Our project partners and the wind turbine generator
suppliers, GE, have worked closely with us to optimize the wind resource and we
look forward to building a plant that will lead the way in expanding access to
creative energy solutions,” said Marc Frishman, managing partner of
Conduit.
