WGL Energy and Conergy have jointly completed a solar project expected to generate 1,200 megawatt hours of electricity annually in California.

The project will supply power to City of Atwater, Merced County, California and will power more than 100 homes each year.

The project has been developed by Conergy and is owned by WGL Energy. Conergy has installed solar panels on parking structures at the civic center and community center of Atwater.

It has also installed ground-mounted structures at Commerce Avenue and Federal Way. The energy harvested by the solar panels is converted to usable alternating current by Sunny Tripower TL-US inverters from global solar technology leader SMA America, a report says.

With the new project WGL Energy owns 15 solar arrays across the state of California, with a cumulative capacity of 7,231 kW DC. The company has another 9,336 kW DC either in design or construction.
