Yingli Green to power FC Bayern Munich with solar energy

Yingli Solar has installed a solar power system on the roof of FC Bayern Munich’s training facility on Sabener StraBe.

The Yingli Solar system has a 29.2 kWp capacity which will be able to produce around 31,000 kWh of electricity each year.

The football club will be able to generate their own solar energy as well as minimize 21,000 kg of carbon emissions annually.

The members of FC Bayern Munich live up to the social responsibility and also commit to a sustainable economy, said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, executive board chairman, FC Bayern München.

Since 2011, Yingli has partnered with FC Bayern Munich for various projects.

The partnership between these two groups demonstrates that both are fit for the club when it comes to sustainability, stated, Darren Thompson, managing director, Yingli Green Energy.

In future, the Visitor’s Center at Sabener StraBe will install an electronic display showing how much renewable energy the solar modules have generated and how much carbon could be saved.
