Trinasolar has achieved a new world record for large-area industrial TOPCon solar cell efficiency, reaching 25.9 percent for its 210×182 mm² n-type bifacial i-TOPCon cell.

The record was confirmed by the Institute for Solar Energy Research Hamelin (ISFH CalTeC) in Germany, marking the 27th time Trinasolar has set a world record in solar cell or module efficiency.

The high efficiency was achieved through Trinasolar’s innovative rectangle wafer design and integration of advanced technologies like tunnel oxide passivating contact, boron-doped emitter, light trapping, and fine line printing.

TOPCon technology is considered the dominant photovoltaic technology due to its high industrialization level, lower cost, and higher customer value.

Trinasolar began developing TOPCon technology in 2015, holding over 500 patents in the field, and continues to lead in technological advancements within the PV industry.
