Trina Solar to supply 96.2 MW solar modules to Toyo Engineering

Trina Solar has signed a supply agreement with Toyo Engineering Corporation to supply 96.2 MW of solar modules to the Hosoe Mega Solar Project.

Developed by Pacifico Energy K.K. the Hosoe Mega solar project is expected to be the largest solar project in Kyushu, Japan.

Trina Solar will start shipping the modules from the fourth quarter of 2016 till January, 2018. The company will build the project on 140 hectares of land. The project is expected to commence commercial operations in the spring of 2018.

The solar project is expected to generate clean energy for up to 30,000 households, delivering annual CO2 emission savings of 68,200 tons compared with coal-generated power.

“With cumulative installations of 6.5GW over the past three quarters, Japan is one of the important markets for us. We will execute our growth strategies in the residential, mega solar and commercial segments while further diversifying our client base to expand our footprint in Japan’s solar market,” said Ye Chen, president of Trina Solar Japan.
