Sungrow, the global leader in PV inverters and energy storage systems, announced a significant project agreement with Penso Power and BW ESS.

This partnership will see Sungrow providing Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for a substantial 100MW/330MWh energy storage project located in Bramley, Hampshire, the United Kingdom.

A key highlight of this collaboration is the introduction of Sungrow’s innovative PowerTitan 2.0 liquid-cooled Energy Storage System (ESS). This marks the debut of the PowerTitan 2.0 in the UK, where it will make its first appearance.

The PowerTitan 2.0 integrates a 2.5MW Power Conversion System (PCS) and a 5MWh battery into a single 20-ft container.

The Bramley project, a prominent addition to Penso Power’s portfolio, is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing UK energy security and reinforcing the resilience of the electricity system. With an expected operational date in 2024, the Bramley facility will actively participate in grid balancing, ancillary services, and wholesale energy trading.

The collaboration between Sungrow, Penso Power, and BW ESS exemplifies the commitment of these industry leaders to advance clean energy solutions and contribute to the growth of renewable energy infrastructure in the UK. The use of the PowerTitan 2.0 in this project underscores the importance of innovation and efficiency in the transition to more sustainable and reliable energy systems.
