US solar power company SunEdison has been named as co-developer of the proposed 2GW Bulli Creek solar project in southwest Queensland.

Australian company Solar Choice, the primary developer of the project, had received planning approval in February from the Toowoomba Regional Council, or Australia’s northeast, for deployment of the project in phases over eight years.

The first stage of the project was expected to begin in mid 2016.

The companies haven’t revealed details regarding the share of each company in the partnership.
