Sun Strap Solar USB Charger launched on Kickstarter

Sun Strap is a new solar USB charger equipped with a flexible solar panel that can be fitted to any bag strap.

The device, designed by Skajaquoda, a research group based in Minnesota, USA, features an internal battery that gets charged while you carry it during daytime.

Sun Strap uses a 1.5W solar panel and has a 5600 mAh built-in battery. This battery can charge USB devices like smartphone, tablet or camera.

Its battery can charge an iPhone 5 three and half times, when once fully charged.

Sun Strap consists of a 5V/1A USB output, LED battery indicator and 5V/1A micro USB.

In addition, the lightweight design makes it suitable for outdoor activities. The charger weighs only 5.8oz (165 grams) with a size of 3″ x 15″ (7.6 x 38 cm).

Moreover,Sun Strap fits in any kind of bag including backpack, purse, golf bag, computer bag, and even the bike. Sun Strap is made from weather and water resistant fabric.

Sun Strap can be taken out during all kind of outdoor activities, traveling, at school, at the beach or can even place it on a car seat belt.

The designing is done in such a way that it is exposed to sun always, charging automatically while comfortable to carry around, said Agust Agustsson, vice president, Skajaquoda, a research group based in Minnesota, USA.

Delivery of Sun Strap to Kickstarter backers is expected in December of 2014.
