SolarWorld to supply solar panels to PES

US-based crystalline silicon solar manufacturer SolarWorld is to supply solar panels for total capacity of 65 megawatts to Panasonic Eco Solutions (PES), North America.

Under the agreement, SolarWorld, which has a portfolio of 1 gigawatts of annual production capacity, will deliver its 72-cell solar panels for individual projects to be built by PES in southeast Oregon.

According to a statement, the contract scheduled for completion in 2016, and will mark the largest supply order for SolarWorld.

The companies inked the agreement at Solar Power International, an annual solar-industry trade show in the Americas.

Panasonic will construct, operate and maintain the facilities in a Malheur County Rural Renewable Energy Development Zone. And the portfolio of projects will be owned by Coronal Group, which developed the projects within the Coronal-Panasonic platform, the statement adds.
