Reliance Energy to start generating 40 MW power from solar project in Rajasthan

Greentech Lead India: Reliance Energy will start power
generation of 40 MW from its solar energy power project in Rajasthan. This is
first solar power project in the private sector.

Besides Reliance Energy promoter Anil Ambani, Rajasthan
chief minister Ashok Gehlot, Union minister for new and renewable energy Farooq
Abdullah, state energy minister Jitendra Singh will be present during the
inaugural function of the solar power project at Dhudsar village.

The Rajasthan state government’s policy to promote renewable
energy has attracted the industry captains and a large number of people to
invest in solar sector.

In western Rajasthan, over 1500 MW energy is being produced
through wind energy including 1200MW in Jaisalmer. Similarly, a large number of
solar plants is being established. The state government has received
applications for setting up solar project for approximately 2500 MW, out of
which the work of setting up 700 MW is in progress, according to a report in
Times of India.
