REC has announced an extension of product warranty for its solar panels with no additional cost, providing enhanced value for commercial installations.
REC recently announced an extended product warranty, 12 years instead of 10, to be immediately available for solar panels on all rooftop installations up to 500 kilowatts.
The extended warranty applies to panels installed by certified REC Solar Professionals.
REC solar panels have 25 year linear output guarantee, with minimum 97 percent output during the first year of performance and a maximum 0.7 percent reduction of power output per year from year 2-25.
By extending its product warranty, REC is providing planners for commercial and industrial installations with increased ROI predictability.
Usually, the solar panel warranties consist of the product warranty that focuses on materials and workmanship in the panels and the output guarantee; which is often tiered.
According to REC Solar authorities, the extension was a result of the increasing popularity of commercial solar installations.
REC solar panels deliver more power per square meter with a positive power class rating and an energy payback time of just one year.
REC Peak Energy modules also give a low temperature coefficient and have passed potential-induced degradation (PID) resistance testing.
Besides, the performance of REC solar panels in harsh conditions has been constantly monitored at the Desert Knowledge Australia Solar Center (DKASC) with a 5.5kW installation.
In Australia, Energy Matters and Apollo Energy received the REC Solar Professional certification and the first in the Asia Pacific to be recognized as REC Platinum Partners.
Energy Matters introduced REC panels to the Australian home solar power market in June 2010.
Later, Energy Matters entered into an agreement for the purchase of 20 MW of the panels to power 5,000 Australian homes.
