Panasonic highlights its Solar Lantern Project in Myanmar Expo

Panasonic Solutions Expo was held in from 18-19 November 2014 at Myanmar, the first big scale platform of the company’s full series of technology, business-to-consumer (B2C) products and business-to-business (B2B) solutions.

The display is arranged across six experiential booths like Corporate Branding, Residential, Energy Solutions, Hotel, Education and Convenience Store to generate ‘A Better Life, A Better World’ for consumers and business partners.

The Energy Solutions Zone highlights solutions for those living in areas with limited electrical infrastructure.

By March 2015, company plans to open two integrated Panasonic showrooms in Yangon and Mandalay as part of the business development strategy.

These showrooms will incorporate a service centre, providing after-sales support services, and showcase Panasonic’s full B2C and B2B offerings.

Panasonic donated 2,000 Solar Lanterns to eight non-governmental organisations in Myanmar in addition to the 5,000 sets donated in 2013, under the global 100 Thousand Solar Lantern Project.

Electrification rate in Myanmar is relatively low at 49 percent compared to other Southeast Asian countries.

The company received positive feedback from the recipient organisationson the utility of Solar Lanterns donated last year, such as how it has significantly helped improve working conditions in hospitals and schools, stated, Rika Fukuda, GM, CSR and Citizenship, Groupwide Brand Communications Division, Panasonic Corporation.

Hopefully, today’s donation will further contribute to the resolution of social challenges faced by people living in Myanmar’s rural areas, he added.
