Greentech Lead America: Level Solar, formerly branded as Terawatt, has launched operations in Suffolk County, New York, allowing Long Island residents to switch to solar energy and bring immediate savings on electricity.
Level Solar installs solar panels on a homeowner’s roof for free, the solar panels generate electricity, and Level Solar sells this electricity to the homeowner. Â The cost of the solar electricity is less than the homeowner’s current electricity rate, bringing the homeowner immediate savings.
In addition, because solar electricity has no CO2 emissions, the homeowner immediately reduces his or her carbon footprint. Each solar installation saves the environment 40-60 tons of carbon dioxide over the lifetime of the installation.
Level Solar is able to extend this offer to Long Island residents by financing the solar panels, maintaining low cost operations, and through cooperation with the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).
“LIPA’s team and solar program are outstanding,” said Stavros Timothy, Level Solar’s director of Long Island Operations. “We look forward to working with LIPA, Suffolk County officials and local permitting offices to bring savings to homeowners, and to help protect Long Island’s air quality, beautiful landscape and shorelines.”
