JA Solar Partners with Paramount Group for Bangladesh’s Largest PV Power Plant Project

In a significant stride towards renewable energy development in Bangladesh, JA Solar, a leading photovoltaic (PV) company, has inked a pivotal agreement with Paramount Group, a renowned energy conglomerate in Bangladesh. The agreement entails JA Solar providing all the PV modules for a groundbreaking 150MW PV power plant project.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Anticipated to conclude by the end of December 2023, this ambitious initiative stands poised to become the largest PV power plant accomplished in Bangladesh for the year, marking a substantial milestone for the nation’s renewable energy efforts. It will claim the prestigious title of being the second-largest PV power plant within the country.

Shakhawat Hossain, Chairman of Paramount Group, expressed optimism about this collaborative endeavor. “As a leading PV company, JA Solar has won a good reputation worldwide for its excellent technical strength and product quality. We look forward to working together to promote the development of Bangladesh’s PV market through the signing of this agreement,” he stated.

Daniel Li, Sales Director of Southeast Asia of JA Solar, also echoed the sentiment of collaboration and progress. “We hope that the cooperation between JA Solar and Paramount Group will promote the popularization and application of PV in Bangladesh and create more value for the Bangladeshi PV market.”

In recent years, JA Solar has demonstrated a proactive approach in the Bangladeshi market, supplying modules for the country’s initial large-scale solar power plant, a 28MW project. This new venture represents a strategic move towards harnessing renewable energy potential, aligning with global efforts to transition to sustainable power sources.
