JA Solar has concluded the delivery of all n-type modules earmarked for the ACWA Power solar initiative in Tashkent, in a push to bolstering Uzbekistan’s renewable energy infrastructure.
The event was marked by the arrival of a freight train laden with these crucial modules, signaling the project’s advancement.
The inception of this venture stems from an agreement inked between ACWA Power and Uzbekistan’s Joint-Stock Company National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan (NEGU) alongside the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade. Facilitated by China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited, the project’s construction was orchestrated, with JA Solar emerging as the key supplier, providing the entire suite of 240MW PV modules.
Aiqing Yang, Executive President of JA Solar, said: “Three years ago, JA Solar furnished modules for the 100MW Nur Navoi solar project, the nation’s inaugural utility-scale solar facility.”
