JA Solar and Orient Energy Systems have finalized the inaugural n-type photovoltaic (PV) power plant project in Pakistan.
Orient Energy Systems, recognized as one of Pakistan’s top three PV engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors, specializes in delivering PV power solutions. Their partnership with JA Solar has culminated in the completion of a groundbreaking project.
The venture, employing JA Solar’s n-type modules, boasts a robust capacity of 26 megawatts (MW). Situated within the expansive grounds of the Lucky Cement plant, Pakistan’s largest cement manufacturer, this initiative represents JA Solar’s inaugural delivery of n-type modules within the Pakistani market. Moreover, it stands as Pakistan’s pioneering PV power plant to embrace n-type modules.
The project operates on a pioneering “self-generation and self-consumption” model, meticulously designed to cater to the energy demands of the plant. By achieving energy self-sufficiency, it effectively curtails energy expenditures.
Located in a desert region of Pakistan, the project capitalizes on the inherent advantages of JA Solar’s n-type modules. These modules exhibit superior traits such as reduced degradation, enhanced temperature coefficient, amplified bifacial power generation gains, and heightened efficiency even in low irradiance conditions. These attributes enable them to yield substantial power generation gains, particularly in high-temperature desert environments.
