Hero Future Energies, the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, has commissioned a 29 MWp solar project in Chitradurga, Karnataka, India. This open-access project aims to support the power needs of the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
The solar project is expected to generate 33 million units of green energy annually, leading to a CO₂ reduction of 31,624 tons. India’s renewable energy target is to achieve 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030.
The power from this solar plant will be supplied to corporates, including BASF India, KEMS Forging , VRKP Sponge and Power Plant, and Aurigene Oncology, through established Power Purchase Agreements.

Hero Future Energies recently signed an MoU with the Government of Karnataka, committing ₹11,000 crore to renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. This partnership highlights the company’s dedication to regional economic growth, job creation, and strengthening Karnataka’s leadership in clean energy.
