Hanwha SolarOne, provider of photovoltaic solar modules has signed a supply agreement with Baotou Shansheng for delivery of 50 MW of Hanwha SolarOne’s PV modules.
These modules will be used for ground-mounted projects in Hohhot and Baotou, Inner Mongolia.
The delivery of modules will begin in August and are scheduled for completion by September.
Chinese government has kept a 13 GW target for solar installations to be accomplished by2014. They have also approved new support for some distributed generation projects.
A positive flow in business opportunities from the third quarter is assured and market demand in China will be strong throughout the remainder of this year, said, Jay SEO, CFO, Hanwha SolarOne, head, Hanwha China business, SolarOne.
In another initiative, Hanwha SolarOne has supplied 2MW of its modules to the recently completed Ozkoyuncu Solar Enerji power plant in the Turkish province of Kayseri, Cappadocia.
German testing institute TÃœV Rheinland selected Hanwha as the PV module supplier for the project after a series of tests and reviews.
