South Korean solar panel manufacturer Hanwha Q Cells and Indian clean energy company Azure Power have signed an agreement to build a solar power project in India. The 50-megawatt plant is expected to produce adequate electricity to meet average power requirements of 18,000 homes.

Work on the project in Andhra Pradesh will begin in October and is expected to be completed by January next.

Hanwha is also supplying modules for a 28.6-megawatt solar photovoltaic project in Digos, The Philippines. The project to be owned by Belgian solar developer Enfinity will be built by Indian solar EPC solution provider Sterling & Wilson.

Sterling & Wilson plans to use 310-Wp Hanwha solar modules with a central inverter solution for the installation.
