GAF Energy, a top solar roofing provider in North America, has announced the successful completion of its cutting-edge manufacturing facility in Georgetown, Texas. Spanning an impressive 450,000 square feet, this facility marks a significant step forward for the company’s expansion plans and solidifies its position at the forefront of solar innovation. Financial details were not disclosed.
Set to commence full operations by year-end, the facility is geared to produce the Timberline Solar Energy Shingle (ES), a groundbreaking solar solution seamlessly integrating with traditional shingles, delivering both functionality and aesthetic appeal for consumers. This innovative product aims to redefine the visual landscape of solar integration within roofing materials.
This new manufacturing hub, the company’s second of its kind, signifies a remarkable 500 percent increase in production capacity. GAF Energy anticipates churning out an annual total of 300 megawatts of their solar shingle, thereby earning the distinction of being the world’s largest producer of solar roofing systems.
Since initiating hiring earlier this year, GAF Energy has already welcomed over 75 professionals across various departments such as manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and related functions. With aspirations to scale up further, the company plans to employ over 240 individuals from the local community once the facility operates at full capacity.
The Georgetown facility serves as a testament to GAF Energy’s commitment to delivering top-tier solar roof solutions assembled within the United States. It stands as a complement to their inaugural manufacturing plant in San Jose, California, completed back in 2021, and emphasizes the company’s dedication to boosting American manufacturing and innovation in the renewable energy sector.
