Canadian Solar, the solar power group announced that their subsidiary firm Canadian Solar Solutions completed the sale of the 10 MW AC Val Caron solar power plant (Val Caron) valued at C$60 million to One West, an affiliate of Concord Green Energy (Concord).
The Val Caron 10 MW AC solar power plant is located in the city of Greater Sudbury, Ontario.
Cliff McCracken, senior vice president, Concord Pacific, said, “Solar energy will soon be a significant contributor to the clean power portfolio of projects already in operation across Canada.”
Shawn Qu, chairman, CEO, Canadian Solar, said, “The first of five planned solar project sales to Concord Green Energy has been closed, proving company’s momentum in Canada. In home market, company operates two modules manufacturing facilities with totalling capacity of 500MW, employing around 700 staff. The utility-scale solar project backlog capacity of Canada is 570 MW DC, after considering the 116 MW DC of solar projects completed so far in Ontario.”
