Andrew Wong appointed as Canadian Solar director

Canadian Solar has increased the size of its board of directors from four to five and has appointed Andrew (Luen Cheung) Wong as an independent director of the Company.

Currently, Wong, aged 56, is senior advisor to the vice chairman of the Board of Directors of Henderson Land Development Company.

In addition, he is director of Ace Life Insurance, China CITIC Bank, Intime Retail and Shenzhen Yantian Port.

Earlier, Wong held senior positions at the Royal Bank of Canada, the Union Bank of Switzerland, China Citicorp International and many more.

At present, he is a member of the Board of Directors of The Tsinghua University Education Foundation (HKSAR).

In 2010, he received National Excellent Independent Director award by the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

In 2011, he received the Medal of Honor (Hong Kong SAR) from the Hong Kong SAR Government.
