Actualize Solar Expands Solar Portfolio to 1.5 GW

Actualize Solar has expanded its renewable energy portfolio to 1.5 GW in six states in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern US. The company signed five new power purchase agreements (PPAs) with a major US utility this year. The company aims to grow its portfolio to 2.5 GW by 2026, with over $480 million in contracted revenues. Actualize Solar focuses on utility-scale projects for sectors like AI and data centers, which are expected to increase demand for solar energy.

EPC Launches New Solar Optimizer Design

Efficient Power Conversion Corporation (EPC) launched the EPC9178, a new photovoltaic (PV) optimizer design. The EPC9178 uses a back-to-back buck-boost converter to maximize energy collection, even under shading. It achieves up to 98 percent peak efficiency and reduces component size and switching losses. The design is powered by GaN technology, offering improved performance over traditional systems.

EliTe Solar Begins Construction on 5GW Solar Facility in Egypt

EliTe Solar has started building a 5GW solar manufacturing facility in the TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone in Egypt. The project will include 2GW solar cell and 3GW solar module production lines, with production starting in September 2025. The facility will help meet Egypt’s energy needs and support its goal to reach 42 percent renewable energy by 2030. It is expected to generate 500 million kWh annually and reduce carbon emissions.

Waaree Solar Starts Production at New U.S. Manufacturing Plant

Waaree Solar, a part of Waaree Energies, has begun trial production of its first solar module at its new factory in Brookshire, Texas. This makes Waaree the first Indian company to set up a PV module manufacturing plant in the U.S. The plant will have a capacity of 1.6 GW in its first phase. This project supports U.S. energy security and strengthens the India-U.S. energy partnership.
