In a significant move towards bolstering Italy’s renewable energy landscape, the A2A Group, a prominent player in the nation’s energy transition, and Enfinity Global, a leading name in the renewable energy sector, have sealed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).
The PPA encompasses three of Enfinity’s solar photovoltaic projects, collectively delivering a substantial 97 MW of renewable electricity capacity within the Lazio region.
This landmark agreement, set to kick off in July 2025, outlines that A2A will procure approximately 160 GWh/year of clean energy produced by the aforementioned plants. This quantity is roughly equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 64,000 Italian families, effectively offsetting more than 60,000 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
Enfinity Global, with a cumulative contracted capacity of 232 MW, now takes the lead as Italy’s largest provider of such capacity through long-term energy sale agreements. In addition to the PPA, Enfinity Italy boasts an impressive portfolio, featuring 500 MW of fully permitted solar power plants, 1.8 GW of solar power plants in advanced permitted stages, and a remarkable 2 GW of storage projects.
By engaging in strategic partnerships like this, A2A, the second-largest player in Italy’s renewable energy sector, continues to contribute to the growth of the green energy market.
Their objective remains to offer targeted solutions to their customers that actively support the country’s ongoing decarbonization process. This commitment is underlined by their substantial investments, totaling 11 billion euros by 2030, to equip the nation with essential infrastructure for the energy transition.
Carlos Domenech, CEO of Enfinity Global, expressed his pride in partnering with A2A, a highly respected energy company with a rich history of customer service. He emphasized the importance of local support in bringing stable, clean, and affordable energy to Italy.
Lorenzo Giussani, Head of Generation and Trading at A2A, reiterated the significance of this partnership in making green energy from renewable sources more accessible to their customers. Simultaneously, it allows them to continue investing in plants that support the country’s path toward energy transition and decarbonization.
Julio Fournier Fisas, CEO for Europe at Enfinity Global, acknowledged the agreement with A2A as a significant milestone in the execution of their strategic plan. He emphasized their commitment to providing clean and competitive energy around the clock.
