GE Vernova has launched its containerized Battery Enabled Energy Storage (BESS) solution, the RESTORE DC Block, designed to provide enhanced safety, efficiency, and long-term performance.

GE Vernova’s latest BESS solution offers capacity of 5MWh and duration range of 2-8 hours. The BESS system supports utility-scale renewable energy projects and aims to improve grid stability by storing surplus energy and distributing it when demand is highest.

The RESTORE DC Block is part of GE Vernova’s FLEXRESERVOIR solution, which integrates battery storage, power electronics, and advanced controls. This system is built to facilitate the seamless integration of renewable energy sources like wind and solar into the power grid.

Ed Torres, Business Leader of GE Vernova’s Solar & Storage Solutions, emphasized the company’s focus on safety and efficiency. “Our new RESTORE DC Block is engineered to meet the technical demands of modern grids while enhancing renewable energy integration and reducing the Levelized Cost of Storage (LCOS).”

GE Vernova said the BESS solution aims to bolster grid resilience, reduce energy costs, and accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, dispatchable clean energy future.
