1800Recycling.com has announced a new partnership with Call2Recycle, the consumer battery stewardship program in North America.
As part of the partnership, they will integrate the U.S. battery collection network of Call2Recycle into battery recycling database of 1800Recycling.
By combining these two programs, the public will benefit from increased awareness with easier access to battery recycling collection sites.
Company’s mission is to simplify recycling process and batteries have long been a confusing element of that process. Teaming with Call2Recycle enables to provide the best options for users and will help further simplify an issue regarding battery recycling, said, John Shegerian, chairman, CEO, Electronic Recyclers International (ERI).
Call2Recycle has abstracted more than 85 million pounds of batteries from the solid waste stream with 34,000 collection sites in U.S. and Canada. It is also the first program of its kind to receive the Responsible Recycling Practices Standard (R2) certification.
The database of 1800Recycling is a helpful resource for people to know where to put unwanted items to recycle properly. Their commitment to recycling is also consistent with the company policies, said, Carl Smith, CEO, president, Call2Recycle.
